A Hypothetical Timeline by Chuck Klosterman
“I support this intellectual masturbation”

I started reading this & started to feel a lot of mixed emotions. It’s hard reading through all these hypothetical assumptions of what would have happened if Kurt Cobain didn’t die, albeit it is interesting to think about and the article is well written enough to be convincing of it’s possibilities.
I am sure many people who were influenced, touched, or obsessed with Kurt Cobain, and Nirvana’s music have asked themselves “What if Kurt didn’t die”, I know I have had that discussion many times before with many different people who shared that same warm spot in our heart (shaped boxes). In the end, I try not to dwell too much on it, because there is a chance if no tragedy ever occured the band would have gone on, and maybe it would have lost that beauty it held. A lot of what I related to was that bizarre state of mind that created Kurt Cobain’s writing, what if that had dissapeared?
I’ll always have a huge place in my music heart for Nirvana, and for Kurt Cobain… He did die, but there are still fragments of him in so many people’s record and book collections.
plus keep in mind: it’s better to burn out than to fade away (?)
